A great Blue Heron from the Post Point nesting site in flight along the bay in Bellingham Washington. The Great
Blue Heron is recognized as a Priority Species by the Washington Department
of Fish and Wildlife. Herons typically forage within three miles of their
nesting site and are known to prefer foraging in the eel-grass habitat of
protected embayments, such as the Post Point Lagoon.

Birds, Bird, Birds
Here they are, all new bird images. These shots were taken over the past couple months mostly around Northwest Washington along the Salish Sea, with the exception of the egret which I took in the Black Canyon Wilderness in Arizona. Keep an eye out for more images to be added to this gallery over the next few week.

Nature Found Me!
My mom always asks me how I got so interested in the nature. I didn't grow up camping, hiking or with any real influential person urging me to enjoy the worlds natural wonders. Honestly I am not sure what prompted this liking to the natural world. What I can say is that every morning I wake up I am thankful for another opportunity to explore, photograph and share the complex and unique natural environment that surrounds me no matter where I am. Check out some of the things that found me on my journeys.Tim Chandonnet Photography
