Central Washington Black and Whites

With the lurking desire to get out and explore more of the east side of the Cascade Mountains and Central Washington I made a recent camping trip.  Over 4 days I slowly made my way between the Yakima Valley and Leavenworth,   here are a few black and white images from the trip.

Great Blue Heron in flight along Bellingham Bay

A great Blue Heron from the Post Point nesting site in flight along the bay in Bellingham Washington. The Great Blue Heron is recognized as a Priority Species by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Herons typically forage within three miles of their nesting site and are known to prefer foraging in the eel-grass habitat of protected embayments, such as the Post Point Lagoon.Tim Chandonnet Photography-Timcphoto-Bellingham Washington Photographer-Bird, nature photography- A Great Blue Heron fly's just over the waters surface in Northwest Washington

Vibrant colors abound!  Armed with a recent trip report from a friend and the threat of a storm closing in I made a last minute overnight trip up to Artist Point in the North Cascade Mountains. Its a good thing I did cause they closed the road for the winter shortly after do to snowfall.
